Jazz Stroud is proud to present Matt Stockham Brown’s new original project ‘6161'. A fierce drum led, brass heavy, alt jazz experience for the 21st century featuring an all star line up of Jake McMurchie, Pete Judge, Dan Moore, Sophie Stockham and Tom Taylor.

Matt Stockham Brown is a drummer/composer from Bristol, England. His approach is firmly rooted in groove whilst also being open to the exploration of texture, melody and much more within the drum kit. Matt’s individually musical and creative approach has led him to record and tour internationally with the likes of Massive Attack, Rodriguez (Searching For Sugarman), Marc Ford (Black Crowes), Gregory Porter, This Is The Kit, Pee Wee Ellis, Andy Sheppard, Get The Blessing, Lillian Boutte, Squirrel Flower, Cloth and many more. 

Between 2019 and 2023 Matt drummed and composed with Bristol project Run Logan Run. Shortly after joining the band won the Montreux Jazz Festival Talent award (2019) and Matt was invited back in 2021 to be a fellow of the Montreux Jazz Festival Academy.
