Lovellious: Deep Cut Colombian Gems From the 70s ,12 noon

Derived from various trips to Colombia over the years, this selection is guided by records discovered while digging across the country that have shaped Lovellious’ own approach to making music. From psychedelic-funk obscurities to salsa-jazz classics, finding these records in situ also became a way of uncovering stories and deepening an understanding and connection to the place itself.

Santa Leticia: Latin Jazz, Percussion & Beyond, 1pm

The Worldwide FM resident traces percussive lineages across Latin jazz and beyond, this session explores the rhythms carried across generations. From boundary pushing tunes of the 70s to more contemporary records, the session explores how groove, repetition and improvisation have continued to expand the language of jazz.

Tim Garcia: Rhythms of Resistance, 2pm

Through records shaped by struggle, imagination and defiance, esteemed broadcaster, curator and DJ Tim Garcia (Worldwide FM, Rinse FM, Jazz FM) explores how music has responded to colonialism and its afterlives. Moving from the subversive aesthetics of Tropicália in Brazil to the political clarity of Fela Kuti, he maps a lineage of artists using sound to challenge imposed narratives and reassert collective agency — linking these ideas to releases on his own label and in particular his recent sound project in Palestine.

The High Priest: Spiritual Jazz & The Power of the Voice, 3pm

A selection centred on vocal-led spiritual jazz, where the voice becomes a guiding force. A Stroud local with a deep record collection, The High Priest draws on soulful, meditative and transcendent sounds to round of this day of deep listening.
