Hailing from Cork, Ireland, singer-songwriter Aisling Iris relocated to London over ten years ago, and has since become an integral part of the UK music scene.
She fronts jazz quartet Neon Villages who supported jazz-funk legend Marcus Miller on his ‘Afrodeezia’ tour and Monk - The Final Frontier Quartet who showcased their homage to the legendary Thelonious Monk at venues like The 606 jazz club, The Crypt in Camberwell and the Birmingham Jazz festival.
Her eclectic skills have seen her touring with UK hip-hop godfather Roots Manuva, supporting soul star Omar and Mercury nominee Eska and writing hits for pop artists including a top 10 hit for Japanese boy band W-Inds
Her early 2017 album release ‘Night Time Moves’ earned her rave reviews in ‘Blues and Soul’ magazine, had Jamie Cullum likening her title track to Omar when he played it on his BBC2 radio show and secured her dates at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Summer Soulstice Festival and regular air play on Jazz FM, Mi-Soul, Delite and Solar Radio.
In early Summer 2017 Aisling met bass player and Jazzwise editor Mike Flynn at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and the group ‘Alchemical’ was formed.
Since then they have collaborated on a number of tracks together, bringing on board talented players to feature including guitarist Rob Luft, saxophonist Phil Meadows, pianist Samuel Crowe and drummer Andrew McLean, with an EP set for release in Summer 2018.
They come together for this night to showcase these brand new songs live for the first time along with songs from the album ‘Night Time Moves’.
