Forrest – featuring Mike Flynn and Matt Telfer

Forrest is the new jazztronica project from six-string bassist/producer Mike Flynn which combines virtuosic live playing with a richly textured fusion of soundscapes, beats and live effects. The project features special guest tenor and soprano saxophonist Matt Telfer, a leading player from London’s thriving jazz scene, who will combine on free-flying improvisations and live looping.

This is the first session between myself and saxophonist Matt Telfer - I've wanted to find a way of hooking up a real-time MIDI link between my bass and Ableton and finally found the solution the Sonuus i2M - I think it works great, as you can hear, this is all real time and even though it's monophonic it still works great and if there are a few glitchy notes in there then so be it!
