Venues
Jazz Stroud takes place across a number of venues in the town centre. Find out more about each one below.
Brunel Goods Shed
Jazz Stroud’s flagship venue. Built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel originally to repair trains, this stone warehouse is quickly becoming recognised as one of the UK’s best sounding music spaces. This year the Goods Shed will be equipped with a 360° d&b audiotechnik soundscape system to create a fully immersive sonic experience.
The Stroud Hotel
Once a coaching inn and built over 200 years ago, The Stroud Hotel is located at the centre of Stroud adjacent to the Railway Station. Over the weekend it will be the home of Stroud’s longest running jazz night, the Stroud Jazz Sessions. Also a great place to crash if you can’t find your way home! Find out more here.
SVA John Street
The mothership of Jazz Stroud. An artistic hub in the town centre, the Stroud Valleys Artspace houses art studios, a gallery, forecourt and downstairs bar and music venue. Come and sit on a sofa for a coffee and live music in the day or wind up here dancing into the small hours of the morning for one of Jazz Stroud’s eclectic club nights. St Laurence’s Church
A church full of music, art and community - St Laurence’s are keen supporters of the arts and have hosted some incredible events in recent years. We are proud and grateful to be able to programme music in this beautiful space - a sanctuary and spiritual home offering a different atmosphere to the Goods Shed. Find out more about the church here
