British composer and Multi-instrumentalist Roella Oloro explores the concept of a perfumer, mixing styles and influences from jazz, gospel, classical and rock.
Currently celebrating the release of his landmark compilation “Une Voix M'appelle”, a survey of Lebanon’s Voix De L’Orient record label, Ernesto Chahoud is the co-founder and figurehead of the Beirut Groove Collective.
Described as ‘absolutely incredible’ by BBC Radio 6 Music DJ/presenter Gilles Peterson, (who played tracks on his show two weeks on the trot - a sure sign he's really into a band or release), one track from the album has gone on to achieve 1.5 million streams on Spotify! The concept of ’Mu’ is meant to be an answer beyond the question.
6161 is a surge of fiercely drum led and brass heavy alt jazz, its the brand new project of Matt Stockham Brown who has previously received critical acclaim winning a Montreux Jazz Festival talent award in 2019, releasing two albums with Run Logan Run and most recently a 5 star Guardian review with Daniel Inzani’s triple release.

With their live-instrumentation-meets-electronic merging of styles, the group were always broader than the ‘new UK jazz’ tag which they were often given, but here their scope and boundary-pushing ambition is more evident than ever before.

In their performances, Tikoda transcends traditional genre boundaries, weaving techno, breakbeat, ambient, and footwork into cohesive narratives that are both raucous and serene.
Jazz Stroud presents explosive afro-futurist collective Onipa and their high-octane live show, fronted by irresistible singer & percussionist K.O.G, on 16th December 2023 as the band tour new album ‘Off The Grid’.
Inspired by New York’s melding of Jazz and Latin from the 50s to the 70s, when the sound of jazz luminaries Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker collided with the Cuban roots of Chano Pozo and Machito, New Regency Orchestra add a contemporary London spin with the city’s best Latin Music and Jazz talent driving each other to greater heights.
A GRIME SUPREME develops new musical collaborations between jazz musicians and grime artists, building cross-genre understanding and opening new opportunities to participants. Tomorrow’s Warriors partnered with The Music Works and Jazz Stroud to recruit local musicians for the project. This year’s sessions have featured Moses Boyd, XVNGO and Rider Shafique for guidance through this creative process, which culminates with a perfomance at The Goods Shed.

Now in their 21st year, The Bad Plus continues to push boundaries as founding members Reid Anderson (bass) and Dave King (drums) embark on a new piano-less incarnation of the band with Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (tenor saxophone) – instigating a new wave of excitement and anticipation within the band that is re-energizing their sound and inspiration.
Acclaimed keyboardist Hailu Mergia, from Ethiopia’s ‘golden age’ group the Walias Band returns to Stroud.

Elevating, soulful music from trumpeter, Matthew Halsall whose luminous playing radiates a thoughtful beauty and who over 15 years and eight studio albums has created his own unique sound world joining the dots between the spiritual jazz of Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane and the contemporary sounds of Bonobo and The Cinematic Orchestra.

Inês Loubet is considered to be one of London's most exciting multi-instrumentalists/singers and her original compositions navigate through the influences of Jazz, vibrant latin-grooves and her native language, Portuguese.
Tonight she performs alongside her usual band - Greg Sanders on electric guitar, Julio Castro on electric bass and Adriano Adewale on percussion - featuring jazz flautist Ruta Sipola. They will be presenting songs from Loubet's debut album SENGA (out later this year on Banze Records). Loubet has been invited to perform at Union Chapel and O2 Shepherds Bush to open for Gilberto Gil & João Bosco.
